Flashmob for a solidary Calais with Calais Ouverture et Humanité

Citizens standing up for migrant rights

Laura and Lucile spent several hours talking to some migrants at a camp in Calais witnessing different emotions, responses and people while there. Laura drew this image although she still feels it doesn't quite do justice to the reality and the strength of the people. Keep an eye out for more on this topic - she's working on a personal story of one of the migrants and it will be uploaded to the blog soon (depending on wifi access of course).

In the meantime, check out Ouverture et Humanité Facebook group set up in response to a local fascist group, and the blog Passeurs d'hospitalité run by the lovely Philippe who arrived in Calais five years ago driven to help the migrants. There is also a No Border campaign that you can find out more on the Calais Migrant Solidarity blog.

And last but not least, read Lucile's post about a call for supporting migrants in the form of a march from Strabourg to Brussels.
